Join Our Community of Faith and Hope

Windsor Community Church is a community of faith and hope located in the suburb of Windsor in New Zealand's most southern city, Invercargill. We are a Presbyterian Church and part of the wider family of the Presbyterian Church of Aotearoa New Zealand. Broadly speaking, our theological flavour is evangelical, with an emphasis on the faithful teaching of the Bible at Sunday worship, home groups, and in our youth ministries.

Our demographics are towards the older age group however, this is slowly shifting as younger families are attending along with younger people. Our Girls Brigade and Boys Brigade Companies are well attended, Mainly Music for parents with preschool children is very well attended, and our Youth Group is growing once again. Our 10am Sunday Service has a blended worship style, meaning we aim to engage as far as possible with the wide range of age groups we have. The service is well attended and also live streamed, with a growing online following. A number of people who have watched the service regularly have opted to come in person now and become a part of the fellowship. Nurturing fellowship is a key part of our strategic thinking, so we have many activities to engage with people seeking to be part of a genuinely caring community. This has been particularly important in 2023 with the neighbouring Richmond Grove Parish joining us.

We completed a major upgrade of our facilities in 2022 as part of having a structural engineering issue rectified that has resulted in a "wow factor". In 2023 we have begun planning a new build beside our existing complex to increase our capacity to meet the present and foreseeable growth Windsor Church is experiencing.

You will not find Windsor Community Church a perfect Church, but you will find us authentic, friendly, faithful and hopeful.

Rev Peter Dunn

Peter is the Senior Minister at Windsor Community Church, leading a ministry staff team who, through their ministries, coordinate numerous volunteers and helpers at WCC and beyond. Peter's first love is his teaching ministry, where he is not afraid to tackle any issue with a biblical response.

Peter is married to Helen and together they have five married children and a growing clan of grandchildren that bring them a lot of joy.

At the General Assembly 2023, Peter was elected the Moderator Designate of the Presbyterian Church of Aotearoa, New Zealand. He takes up the role of Moderator for a two-year term in 2025.

Local Ordained Ministry Trainee
Inge de Kruijf

Inge began her Local Ordained Ministry (LOM) Training in February 2022 to become a Presbyterian Minister. Because the training is part-time, this could take up to five years. While Inge will continue to focus on her previous role as Pastor to Seniors to the many elderly folks associated with WCC, her scope of ministry will widen. She is innovative in her approach to keeping fellowship going with those who can no longer come to Church, with a particular ministry of encouragement to those in retirement homes. Inge leads services and gatherings. Another strength is his ability to freely share the gospel with the elderly as they enquire about life. Inge also conducts funerals.
